Escape from Ryhope Wood
A downloadable game
A party of intrepid explorers have ventured deep into Ryhope Wood, hoping to discover the magic, mystery, and meaning, of this primal forest. But having realised the futility of this, they must now attempt to escape – before becoming full ‘Bosky’ or encountering the fearsome Urscumug.
Their path will take them through a succession of mythical landscapes and strange encounters, before they can return home safely.
A minimalist, narrative role playing game, for a solo player or a group (of up to 4). 1D6, paper, pencils and an eraser are all that's needed. Journaling is optional, but in keeping with the source novels.
The game is a homage to the magnificent Mythago Wood Cycle, written by Robert Holdstock, and published between September 1984 and July 2009.
Robert died in November 2009.
Files include a standard version, a two page spread version, a Character Sheet, and the map of Ryhope Wood (or rather the current Geistzone), for movement purposes.
